- W4303437701 abstract "Photoelectrochemical nitrogen reduction reaction (PEC NRR) is a promising green technology that can realize the transfer nitrogen to ammonia (NH3) under room temperature. Nevertheless, there are great obstacles in kinetics for PEC NRR to produce NH3. Cu2O is a promising photocathode candidate for PEC NRR. However, the surface activity and photoelectric corrosion of Cu2O lead to its unideal NH3 yield rate. In this work, Ni was successfully modified on the surface of Cu2O photocathode by simple vacuum evaporation method, and the NH3 yield of PEC NRR was effectively improved from 1.47 μg·h−1·cm−2 to 4.95 μg·h−1·cm−2. Ni thin layer can protect Cu2O and effectively ensures the charge supply in the active sites, leading to the boosted reaction kinetics." @default.
