- W4306174859 abstract "Weathering steel (WS) is not recommended to be used without coating when pollutants like chloride and sulfur dioxide are above a certain limit in the environment. Considering the rust layer protection theory of the weathering steel, the addition of anti-rust pigments and fillers to the coating that improved the rust progress was developed in this job. It was studied that the interfacial corrosion of Q450NQR1 weathering steel, which was painted by the modified coating in the simulated harsh marine atmosphere. The results showed the interface bonding force between the substrates and the coating was gradually reduced as corrosion took place and the protection of the coating decreased. The active anti-corrosion and anti-rust pigment promoted the protective rust layer of transformation. Stable corrosion products like α-FeOOH and β-FeOOH were formed at the interface of the coated weathering steel and hindered the development of interface corrosion as the protective layer when the coating failed." @default.
