This study examines the method of reproducing memories of her husband who lived in a violent era in the early 20th century, and the aspects of revealing her own evaluations and emotions, targeting Seung Jos Ceremonial Writing for her husband. In a long Ceremonial Writing for her husband, Seung Jo arranges the actions of her husband Il-gi Kim, which she remembers, according to the passage of time, and solves his regrets. Seung Jo shows the life of Il-gi Kim with limited information, but completes the narrative so that he can understand the process by which he made his life goal of restoring a living and home ravaged by external violence. However, rather than ideally portraying her husband, Seung Jo portrays Il-gi Kim with compassionate eyes, exposing his psychological anxiety and fluctuating emotions. And the narrator moves from the position of the witness to the position of the party who interprets the incident, analyzes the meaning of the husbands death and mourns. By changing the narrative style, the listener/reader also becomes immersed in the husbands life and understands it, and sympathizes with the resentment that he did not properly reach his wishes. In Ceremonial Writing, the narrator is doing the womans duty to maintain a family home, and Il-gi Kim wants to provide a physical house where he can live a wealthy life. Through this, they tried to withstand external tyranny and secure the meaning of life. However, Il-gi Kim did not reach the goal of her life, and the narrator captures the life of her husband with a pitiful gaze. Seung Jos Ceremonial Writing is a personal piece of mourning for Il-gi Kim, but Il-gi Kim could be another name for a number of individuals who were separated from their homes/houses at the time.
