- W4306678086 abstract "A 3D pillared-layer intercalated metal–organic framework synthesized using solvent-free mechanochemical (MC) approach using N-donor rigid organic ligand, 4,4′‐bipyridine (4,4′-bipy) and iron as a metallic center followed by incorporation of chemically labile conjugated organic linker, p-aminobenzoic acid (PABA) into the 3D framework. The as-synthesized Fe-MOF was further characterized by various physiochemical techniques including single crystal X-ray diffraction. The remarkable emissive nature of Fe-MOF investigated in different organic solvents was utilized to develop Fe-MOF based turn-off luminescence sensing with respect to organic compounds having aldehyde and ketone functional moieties. The intercalated PABA in the interstitial voids of the 3D Fe-MOF, found to be superintend as fluoroprobe for detection of carbonyl group as evident from FTIR and DFT calculations. DFT studies revealed that the selective recognizing of aldehydes and ketones substantiated to the development of a stable, non-covalent bonding interactions between carbonyl group and the PABA unit of the MOF." @default.
