Weak flames in a micro flow reactor with a controlled temperature profile (MFR) was applied to investigate ammonia reactivity at low temperatures. Weak flame structures of ammonia/air mixtures were analyzed using a quadrupole mass spectrometer (QMS). Chemical kinetic analysis for ammonia weak flames identified the importance of N2Hx chemistry for low-temperature reactivity of ammonia. Chemical kinetic model for ammonia combustion was developed and validated using species data of ammonia weak flames and data from the literature. Effects of radiation heat loss on laminar flame speeds and emission characteristics were examined." @default.
