- W4308266172 abstract "This research work reports the synthesis of zinc oxide nanoparticles (ZnO-NPs) along with doping of lanthanum (La) and molybdenum (Mo) via a facile sol-gel chemical method, which is cost-effective, and simple. The physical, chemical, and optical characteristics of synthesized NPs are investigated for varying dopant concentrations (1%, 2%, and 3%). UV–visible and PL-spectroscopy have been performed to explore the optical and electrical characteristics of produced NPs respectively. The impacts of different functional groups on synthesized NPs are investigated by Fourier-transformation infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy. A scanning-electron microscope (SEM) and an energy dispersive X-ray spectroscope (EDX) have been used to analyze the morphological and compositional features respectively. The XRD has been explored to explore the crystal structure of mixed NPs. The synthesized NPs has been used to perform Photocatalytic activity while using rhodamine B (RhB) dye, which confirms that synthesized materials are efficient photocatalysts. Such optimal photocatalyst has been used to enhance the shelf life of Apple. The present study is quite unique in the sense of correlating photocatalytic activity with the shelf life of Apple. Quite interestingly, it was observed that the material showing the best photocatalytic efficiency can be used as a potential candidate for enhancement of the shelf life of Apple." @default.
