- W4308654705 abstract "An optimal sidewall machining strategy is proposed for the fabrication of aerospace structural parts in this paper. It will not only reduce the tool-path length by maximize tool machining capacity, but also decrease the time cost on air run movement of tool. Firstly, some basic terms such as machining region (MR), tilted edge and cutting state are described. Secondly, based on cutting state analysis, the origin machining regions (MRs) are reconstructed by maximum cutting depth value. Finally, in order to reduce the time cost on air run movement of tool, the complex MRs with tilted edges are split into smallest cutting regions (SMRs), and they are recombined by invoking simulated annealing algorithm. The machining strategy proposed in this paper is validated through a case study, and the results prove that the machining strategy performs much better than traditional ways in terms of the sidewall machining efficiency of aerospace structural part." @default.
