- W4308804305 abstract "Everyday technologies (ETs) (i.e. smartphones to Internet bank, automated ticket machines) are continually changing and becoming more prevalent in society. As such, for people living with dementia in different contexts (i.e. alone, rurally), certain ETs are suggested as solutions to problems in everyday life. This chapter is based upon the synthesised findings of four studies that used multiple methods to highlight the conditions of using ET between the United States, the United Kingdom and Sweden. Moreover, the synthesis illuminates how these conditions interplay in life outside home among older people, particularly those with dementia. Practical suggestions around creating a more dementia-friendly, or simply human-friendly, society are given for a range of actors from family and neighbours, to service developers and designers." @default.
