- W4308906592 abstract "AbstractConventional sources of energy have an adverse effect on the environment. Self-excited induction generators have gained a lot of importance in recent years owing to the global trend in switching towards renewable and cleaner sources of energy. SEIGs are robust in design, have long life and require minimal maintenance. They find application in wind turbines for harnessing wind energy. The system under study in this paper is a wind turbine coupled induction generator, delivering a three phase balanced load, with a capacitor bank. An analysis of this SEIG system is carried out by solving the non-linear equations governing the performance of the system. Multivariate Newton Raphson technique has been employed for obtaining the solution. Thereby, a study is done on the speed and capacitor requirement of different loads for rated generation of voltage and frequency.KeywordsWind energySelf-excited induction generatorCapacitor bankMultivariate Newton Raphson method" @default.
