- W4308962084 abstract "The aim of this study is to deposit a superhydrophobic film on the cylindrical ceramic surface with APPJ. The influences of treatment parameters such as treatment duration, distance, and rotation speed, on the film hydrophobicity, are investigated. The results for static treatment show that a superhydrophobic organosilicon film is deposited on the central region of the ceramic surface at optimal treatment distance and treatment duration of over 2 min. The film hydrophobicity is constricted by short or long treatment distances due to insufficient film deposition to form micro-nano mountainous structures covering the original crystal structures of the ceramic surface. Moreover, the water contact angle distribution is discovered to present as layering ellipses, and its mechanism is explored based on the interactions between the cylindrical material and APPJ. Dynamic treatment is performed, and a uniform superhydrophobic film six times longer than the plasma plume diameter is obtained within the rotation speed of 120 r/min. Results in this paper serve as guidance for the application of plasma jets in film deposition on non-planar material surfaces. • The film hydrophobicity presents elliptical layering for static treatment. • A layering mechanism is proposed for cylindrical surface film deposition with APPJ. • The layering film properties can be tailored by regulating the treatment distance. • A uniform superhydrophobic organosilicon film is deposited on cylindrical ceramic. • The superhydrophobic film length is several times larger than the plume diameter." @default.
