It attempts to integrate the book's theoretical framework of social constructivism in building the case that proponents of progressive neoliberalism must champion CSR/ESG principles as instruments to improve human security. I further posit that CSR is best understood as a concept that adapts and changes over time and therefore should be considered evolutionary as no single actor, government, or organization has a monopoly over its definition. The chapter seeks to unpack what I refer to as 'Developmental Corporate Social Responsibility' as a pragmatic concept designed to capture a more complete and inclusive understanding of CSR. As will be argued, although contemporary definitions of CSR may have their foundations in American business schools the future trajectory of the concept is dynamic and one that will be shaped by diverse non-Western perspectives." @default.
