- W4309448058 abstract "The vast improvements made by the human species in household, scientific, and commercial spheres come at the expense of environmental pollution. Due to its direct connection to all living forms, aquatic pollution is a severe issue. Tons of home and industrial contaminants enter aquatic systems every year; their proficient removal and degradation is crucial for a sustainable future. A new and promising technology for the efficient removal of aqueous contaminants is photodegradation. Carbon dots (CQDs) have recently emerged as one of the most effective materials that may be used to generate a variety of chemical processes that are driven by the sun. Outstanding physicochemical characteristics, including light-harvesting, photosensitizers, and redox characteristics, are present in CQDs. A simple and affordable photocatalyst for the oxidation of aqueous pollutants is CQDs. The most recent developments in the field of photodegradation of aquatic contaminants with the assistance of carbon quantum dots (CQDs) alone and with dopant are summarized in this mini-review." @default.
