- W4309957945 abstract "Water pollution due to heavy metals has become a worldwide problem, posing serious difficulties in several developing nations. Even at very low concentrations, heavy metals are toxic to living organisms. Chromium, mercury, lead, cadmium, and arsenic are among the metal ions that are considered extremely toxic. Consequently, an appropriate and consistent heavy metal detection technique is essential. Several detection techniques specifically for water resources have been developed in this regard. Among these, electrochemical, spectroscopic, and optical techniques are the most widely utilized detection techniques. Microspheres, enzymes, microorganisms, and nanomaterials such as metal oxides, carbon nanotubes, silver, gold nanoparticles are interfaces, which are used to develop biosensors. The sensors’ sensitivity, robustness, and limit of detection have all improved as a result of combining various detection techniques with nanomaterials and other biosensors. Methods for detecting low levels of metals rapidly are presented in this paper. The focus of this chapter is mainly on the detection techniques with several characteristics that are used to detect heavy metals in water." @default.
