- W4310243804 abstract "Zeolitic metallosilicates with Lewis acidity are effective in the chemisorption of benzene, toluene, and xylenes (BTX) because of the strong π-interactions between the Lewis acid sites and BTX adsorbates. In this study, we prepared boro-, nickel-, and zincosilicate delMWW (two-dimensional delaminated MWW) and beta zeolite (*BEA) adsorbents by using the interzeolite transformation method and compared them with their mother MWWs for BTX chemisorption. Different structural properties, framework-atom species, and hydroxyl and Lewis acid site concentrations were systematically characterized by using various analytical methods. Among the studied adsorbents, nickel silicate beta zeolite (Ni-BEA) exhibited the highest concentration of Lewis acid sites and a hydrophobic character because of the stable framework-bound Ni species. In addition, its advantageous textural properties, large pore size, high surface area, and nano-sized crystals, induced the highest chemisorption content and a strong chemisorption ability of BTX at high-temperature (120 °C) adsorption under humid conditions." @default.
