X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray photoelectron spectrophotometry (XPS), UV–visible diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (UV–vis DRS) and Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) surface area analysis were used to identify heterostructure Pt0 nanoparticles/Bi2MoO6 nanoplates nanocomposites with the highest visible light absorption. The photocatalytic activities of heterostructure Pt/Bi2MoO6 nanocomposites were higher than that of pure Bi2MoO6 nanoplates due to the located surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) effect of Pt0 nanoparticles with h+ and ●O2− as main active radicals for photodegradation of RhB molecules. A photocatalytic mechanism of heterostructure Pt/Bi2MoO6 nanocomposites was also proposed." @default.
