- W4310558172 abstract "Cognitive impairments are among the most common symptoms experienced by patients following repetitive mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI). Animal models play crucial roles in enhancing our understanding of mTBI pathophysiology and in developing therapeutic strategies and interventions. Accurate assessment of cognitive deficits in animal models is therefore essential in mTBI research. We describe herein a mouse model of repetitive mTBI, as well as behavioral tests for the assessment of cognitive function. The model uses an electromagnetic impactor to deliver three mild injuries to a closed head and generates reproducible and persistent cognitive deficits and pathological features seen in patients after repetitive mTBI." @default.
