- W4310608480 abstract "Nowadays, applications have high demands on the efficiency of motors, and accurate motor iron loss calculation is the basis for further optimization of motor design. The present methods are extremely complicated to calculate the motor iron loss accurately, especially for the inverter-fed motor system. In this paper, a convenient iron loss calculation procedure based on the loss surface model (LS model) and finite element method is presented. The LS model is a dynamic and scalar hysteresis model that takes account of all dynamic behaviors. The material properties need only be measured once, and after modeling, the model can be directly adopted for calculation in the application. The method is used to calculate the iron loss of an inverter-fed interior permanent magnet synchronous motor (IPMSM). Meanwhile, a motor with unmagnetized permanent magnets has been customized. And the iron loss of the IPMSM is measured on the built platform. The feasibility and accuracy of the combined method are verified by comparing the calculated results with experimental results." @default.
