- W4310798768 abstract "Two new coordination polymers namely; [Cd3(SBA)2(phen)2(OAc)2].2DMA CdCP1, and [Cd(FBA)(phen)].DMA CdCP2 {Where, SBA = 4,4′-sulfonyldibenzoate, Phen = 1,10-phenanthroline, OAc = Acetate, FBA = 4,4′ (hexafluoroisopropylidene)bisbenzoate, DMA = N, N'-dimethylacetamide} were synthesized via solvothermal reaction between cadmium salts, 1,10-phenanthroline and two different V-shaped ligands in polar solvent media. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction study was used to determine the structures of reported coordination polymers (CPs) and further characterized by elemental analysis, X-ray powder diffraction, IR spectroscopy, and TG analysis. A single-crystal X-ray study revealed that the 2D structure of CdCP1 comprises the trimeric {Cd3O12N4} unit working as SBU which contains three corners shared octahedral polyhedron, whereas the dimeric unit {Cd2O10N4} acting as SBU in 2D solid CdCP2 contains two edges shared pentagonal bipyramidal polyhedron. The dielectric investigation of solids CdCP1 and CdCP2 showed high dielectric constants of ∼ 20.0 and ∼ 32.0 at room temperature, indicating the possible candidates for gate dielectrics in electronic devices. The interaction between the metal carboxylate chains polar solvent molecules is the main cause of the high dielectric constant in both solids. Given the high dielectric constants at room temperature and great thermal stability of the reported Cd-based CPs, we think that further efforts to employ them as gate dielectrics must be encouraged." @default.
