- W4311495856 abstract "A facile hydrothermal synthesis of CuO NPs and SPR triggered Ag-CuO composite from Cu(II) complex derived from (5-trifluoromethoxy-2-(((2chloro-5-(methyl)phenyl)imino)methyl)phenol)) as Schiff base was developed for the photodegradation of toxic pollutants including single and binary-dye systems (FL, RhB, and FL + RhB) under visible light and sensitive fluorometric detection of nitroaromatic compounds including 4-NP, 2,4-DNP, and 2,4,6-TNP. The synthesized materials were characterized and confirmed by XRD, UV–vis DRS, PL, FTIR, TGA, EDX, and HR-TEM techniques. The Ag-CuO composite has appeared in diminutive agglomeration and the average diameter of the particles is 12 ± 3 nm. The monoclinic phase with cell constants: a = 4.672, b = 3.434, and c = 5.138 Å, and a bandgap is 3.12 eV of Ag-CuO composite was observed from XRD and UV–vis DRS. Moreover, the photodegradation performances of CuO and Ag-CuO composites were tested under visible light irradiation for the degradation of single and binary-dyes systems, the Ag-CuO composite has prominent degradation performance in all cases (>90 % in 60 min) compared to the CuO NPs due to SPR band and follows pseudo-first-orderreaction kinetics. The fluorescence quenching behaviour of Ag-CuO composite by 4-NP, 2,4-DNP, and 2,4,6-TNP is investigated. It is found that the fluorescence intensity of Ag-CuO can be effectively quenched by 2,4-DNP and obeys the Stern-Volmer equation, and SV constant of 3.01 × 103 L/mol and a detection limit of 7.14 × 10−7 mol/L." @default.
