- W4312007210 abstract "We develop a diffusion-viscoplasticity coupled phase field model for calcium-magnesia-alumina-silicate (CMAS) assisted cracking in a thermal barrier coating system (TBCs). The coupled model is grounded on a coupled viscoplastic mechanical and CMAS diffusion response, driven by chemical potential gradients, and corrosion-related fracture energy. The results show that the method is particularly suitable to capture the degradation and failure process of TBCs. The simulation agreed well with experiments, and the competitive relation of cracks in the top coat is analyzed quantitively. The work could have important implications for the prediction and prevention of TBCs fatigue failure in a CMAS corrosion environment." @default.
