- W4312563224 abstract "Visible light communication (VLC) has emerged as a reliable and energy-efficient technology with great potential for high data rate communications, but the performance is limited due to narrow modulation bandwidth. Therefore, enabling non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) for VLC network is compelling due to its effective spectrum utilization. In this paper, we investigate a NOMA-VLC system in which short packet based transmission is carried out between one light emitting diode (LED) and two NOMA users equipped with photo-diode under practical assumptions of residual hardware impairments. To analyze the performance, analytical expressions of block error rate (BLER) and throughput are derived by considering the realistic assumptions of successive interference cancelation (SIC) error and channel estimation error. Further, the system throughput is optimized by fractional iteration search algorithm. Furthermore, numerical results also derive the insight related to the impact of user’s power allocation factor, 1/2-angle of an LED and block length on the system throughput." @default.
