- W4312662783 abstract "With the development of pulse power technology, higher standards are put forward for the trigger vacuum switches. In this paper, a 30 kV miniaturized high-performance trigger vacuum switch is designed and the internal electric field of the switch is optimized. Three dimensional models of the switches with different internal structures are established and the electric field simulations of the switches are calculated in ANSYS software. The simulation results show that the shield and electrode structures have a significant influence on the electric field distribution. A severe distortion of the electric field in the region at the end of the shield, the electrode tip, and between the shield and the electrode. With the radius of the electrode and the corner filleted increase, the maximum inside field strength decreases. As the gap between the shield and the electrode is increased, the field strength maximum is first reduced and then increased. An optimal structural design for the electric field is obtained by simulation: the internal structure is symmetrical, the shield curl radius is 3 mm and the orientation is outward, the shield length is 12 mm, the crimping angle is 90°, and the gap between the shield and the electrode is 4 mm. The design requirement of package size less than 40 mm and withstanding voltage more than 30 kV is achieved." @default.
