- W4312783103 abstract "Nano-alumina (Al2O3) particles were dispersed in Hemp biodiesel (HBD) blended with diesel fuel with varying fractions, and the engine characteristics were investigated. The brake thermal efficiency (BTE) was enhanced when the brake power was increased for tested fuels. Added nano-Al2O3 increased the BTE for both diesel and HBD25 fuel as the nanoparticles improve the combustion quality due to high surface area. BSFC was diminished by 8.5% for diesel+50ppm of Al2O3 fuel and 9.8% for HBD25+50ppm of Al2O3 fuel than the diesel and HBD25 fuels, respectively. CO emission for the HBD25 fuel was reduced by up to 18% than diesel and further decreased by the dispersion of alumina NPs. The maximum HC emissions were observed for diesel than HBD25 fuel and can be reduced with the addition of nano-particles. Further, a slight improvement in the NOx emissions was noted for diesel+50AN and HBD25+50AN fuels than diesel and HBD25 fuels. The results indicate better engine performance with enhanced combustion behavior of nano-Al2O3 dispersed Hemp biodiesel (HBD)–diesel blend with reduced emission." @default.
