- W4313014997 abstract "Lubrication of very high-speed gears is often used for aviation systems based on turbofan technology. The lubricating performance of the oil jet directly affects the operation, reliability of the gears operating under high speed conditions and heavy loads in the helicopter's main transmission. This study aims to investigate the phenomenon of single-phase flow that occurs around the gear teeth and the cooling effect on the gears. The setup consists of a single jet of oil hitting both gear pairs. For this study, the fluid used is a single-phase type of SAE 30 oil with a temperature of 20℃, steady state conditions, gear operating conditions of 70℃. Numerical arrangement based on Incompressible and Conjugate Heat Transfer (CHT) analysis model is simulated. The setup consists of a single jet of oil hitting both gears. The results obtained are in the form of velocity, pressure, temperature contours and analytical calculations with variations in speed at each point as validation of the results that have been carried out. The optimal speed and heat transfer coefficient that occurs for the inlet variation of 2.1 m/s is obtained at point 1 of 0.42 m/s with a heat transfer coefficient of 14.73 W/m2.C and for the inlet variation of 4.2 m /s at point 1 is 0.73 m/s with a heat transfer coefficient of 35.375 W/m2.C. Where the increasing velocity of the oil fluid (V) causes the Reynolds number to increase, resulting in the Nusselt number (Nu) increasing, the heat transfer coefficient (h) will increase." @default.
