- W4313065066 abstract "Atrial fibrillation (AF) is the most common cardiac arrhythmia. Pulonary vein isolation (PVI) is a fundamental method of AF ablation. One of the most commonly used methods to perform PVI is radiofrequency (RF) catheter ablation. Conventional RF ablation utilises low power, long-duration (LPLD) applications to obtain durable lesions and reduce the risk of adverse effects and collateral tissue damage. New approach utilises shorter aplications but of higher energy (high power, short duration, HPSD). Recent studies have shown that HPSD can create comparable lesions to LPLD.
