- W4313232302 abstract "CsPbCl3 perovskite is considered as an ideal light absorber for ultraviolet (UV) photodetectors in virtue of its suitable wide bandgap and salient optoelectronic property. Nevertheless, the detection performance of the reported self-powered CsPbCl3 UV photodetectors is far from satisfactory since it still remains challenging to fabricate high-quality CsPbCl3 polycrystalline films with low trap-state density. Herein, a novel cadmium (Cd)-doping strategy is demonstrated by an evaporation method to manipulate the optical, electrical and morphological property of the CsPbCl3 polycrystalline film for the first time. The incorporation of Cd2+ ions into CsPbCl3 lattice can effectively improve the crystallinity, grain sizes and UV harvesting capability of the CsPbCl3 perovskite, while the defect state of the film gets pronouncedly suppressed. Thus, the overall performance of the charge-transport-layer-free Cd-doped CsPbCl3 photodetectors attains an obvious enhancement. A thin MnS modification layer is further introduced to ameliorate the interfacial charge transport dynamics between the CsPbCl3 and carbon layers. It is found that the MnS buffer layer can effectively reduce the interfacial barrier and accelerate the hole injection process, yielding a lower interfacial charge accumulation and recombination. The best-performing MnS-modified device achieves an ultra-high current on/off ratio of 3.97 × 105 and a high specific detectivity of 5.47 × 1012 Jones at 0 V bias. This comprehensive performance is comparable to that of any other CsPbCl3 photodetectors. Besides, the as-prepared CsPbCl3 photodetectors possess superior operational and thermal stabilities. Our work opens up a new approach for the defect passivation of CsPbCl3 perovskite and highlights its great application potential in high-performance UV detection." @default.
