- W4313254912 abstract "By templating silver and Mn(btc) growth on polystyrene beads, hollow Ag-Mn(btc) nanospheres with uniform shell thickness are created. The Ag-Mn(btc) sample was characterized by various techniques including Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD), N2 Adsorption-desorption (BET-BJH), thermal analysis (TGA-DTG) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The morphology of the Ag/Mn(btc) was also studied using scanning electron microscope (SEM) and tunneling electron microscope (TEM). Using 30 percent H2O2 and catalytic quantities of an unique recoverable hollow Ag/Mn(btc) catalyst, several aromatic and aliphatic sulphides are selectively oxidised to sulfoxides in good to outstanding yields (79%-95%). Under the given reaction conditions, the catalyst may be recovered and reused for at least six reaction cycles without significant reactivity loss." @default.
