- W4313309435 abstract "When coronaviruses infect humans, all parts of the eye, orbit, and periorbital space can be involved. The novel severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) has been detected in a host of ocular structures. Conjunctivitis secondary to COVID-19 is common compared with orbital and periorbital involvement. Intraocular effects from SARS-CoV-2 to date have been relatively uncommon. COVID-19-induced ophthalmic findings can precede systemic symptoms. The full clinical implications continue to emerge regarding the impact that COVID-19 has on the eye, orbit, surrounding ocular structures, and vision. A team approach is often required to effectively manage patients with COVID-19. It is important to increase awareness of ocular sequelae resulting from COVID-19 infection in children and adults so that ophthalmologists can be appropriately consulted." @default.
