The analytical and numerical technique is implemented for a linearly elastic medium-vacuum interface, to generate band-limited uniform diffusers which may have applications for wave manipulation and ultrasonic non-destructive evaluation. Longitudinal incidence is assumed, and the theory allows for bulk wave mode conversions, with the surfaces designed to produce prescribed intensity distributions for both reflected compression wave modes, as well as the mode-converted vertically polarized shear wave modes. The angular distribution of these two cases is shown to be significantly different; additional, more exotic intensity distributions are also demonstrated to highlight the versatility of the model." @default.
