- W4313367326 abstract "Herein, Polypyrrole (PPy)/TiO2 nanocomposites are synthesized via ultrasound-assisted in-situ chemical oxidative polymerization in the presence of sodium dodecyl sulphate. The nanocomposites were characterized using SEM, FTIR, XRD, and TEM. The elemental and composition analysis for nanocomposite were carried out using EDS, elemental mapping, and thermogravimetric (TGA) techniques. The column adsorption study was carried out to remove Cu(II) ions from an aqueous solution using PPy/TiO2 nanocomposite and polypyrrole as adsorbent based on different parameters viz pH, initial concentration of Cu(II) ions, and flow rates. The results showed that maximum removal efficiency was obtained at pH 6, Cu(II) ions concentration of 550 micromole/mole at 1 ml/min flow rate. The data obtained for adsorption was analyzed using Thomas, Yoon-Nelson, and Adams-Bohart models. The polypyrrole (PPy)/TiO2 nanocomposites prepared via ultrasound-assisted has the potential to remove heavy metal ions (Cu2+) from an aqueous solution for environmental application." @default.
