- W4313442200 abstract "This chapter deals with the possibilities of capillary electrophoresis (CE) for direct enantioselective analyses, as illustrated by its application to acidic compounds. The effect of ageing of Glucidex2 modified electrolytes on chiral separation was equally investigated. In addition to their influence on the extent of chiral separation, background electrolyte cations also showed a marked and consistent effect on migration times: ammonium phosphate based buffers allowed the fastest separations, followed by potassium, Tris, sodium and lithium phosphates. Chirality plays a major role in virtually all disciplines related to biology. The relatively recent and increasing awareness of the importance of stereochemical specificities in applied biological sciences has also created the need for stereoselective analysis methods, especially in the field of pharmacology-pharmacokinetics-toxicology and the agricultural and environmental sciences. CE is one of the most recent developments in analytical separation techniques and offers great potential." @default.
