- W4313443599 abstract "In patients with non-ST-elevation acute coronary syndrome (NSTE-ACS), the role of admission systolic blood pressure (SBP) on outcomes remains inconclusive. This study aimed to investigate the association between admission SBP and long-term outcomes in patients hospitalized for NSTE-ACS. Patients admitted for NSTE-ACS and indication for coronary angiography were prospectively evaluated. Patients were divided into two groups according to their SBP whether SBP ≥ 140 mmHg vs. SBP < 140 mmHg. Major outcomes were assessed at five years. Data were analyzed using SPSS software 23. A total of 274 patients were evaluated: mean age was 62 ± 12 years, 58.8% was male and 54.7% had history of hypertension. The five-year mortality was 18.6% (51 patients) and the five-year MACCE was 35.0% (96 patients). The SBP ≥ 140 mmHg group included 122 patients (44.5%). The five-year MACCE occurrence in the patients of SBP ≥ 140 mmHg was significantly higher (43.4% vs. 28.3%; P = 0.011) (Fig. 1) but there were no significant differences between the two groups in term of five-year all-cause and cardiovascular mortality. High admission systolic BP was associated with increased five-year MACCE occurrence." @default.
