By now, there is still no effective clinical intervention available for treatment of RIPF. Recent studies revealed mesenchymal stromal cells (MSCs) as a promising therapy treatment due to their homing and differentiation ability, paracrine effects, immunomodulatory effects, and MSCs-derived exosomes.
