- W4313496629 abstract "The producing of Islamic horror films has become a trend among film directors in Islamic countries. Although originally horror films were criticized for only focusing on paranormal entities and jump scare, but along with the era of horror films that incorporated Islamic elements and things related to it has the potential to be wasilah dakwah, in accordance with Islamic literary criteria. Even so, it is not an accurate benchmark as long as there are some vanities mixed together with the element of haq even though it is present from the art of the film director’s creativity. Therefore, this paper aims to examine the accuracy of the art of Islamic literary creativity which is the basic proposal of Islamic literary criticism by Muhammad Qutb, against the three themes of the film Dabbe: The Possession (2013). This study is a qualitative study that uses descriptive methods of analysis, which is to collect data sourced from Al-Quran and Al-Hadith from Sahih Bukhari and others, if necessary, as well as analyze the themes in the film and categorize them using codes. The research data is discussed in detail to identify Islamic literary criticism and theme analysis with support from Al-Quran and Al-Hadith as prescribed. The study concludes that the three themes chosen to do not coincide with the art of Islamic literary creativity as suggested by Muhammad Qutb, as it has the potential to convey untrue beliefs to Muslim audiences. @default.
