- W4313531229 abstract "Glass micro-aspherical-cylindrical lens array (MACLA) has been used extensively in various field of beam shaping and 3D imaging. Glass lens can be fabricated by glass molding with tungsten carbide (WC) molds efficiently. To meet the optical properties of glass lens, profile accuracy of WC array molds is usually in the sub-micron level. In this study, a new compensation method was proposed to improve the form accuracy of MACLA based on the real-time profile of grinding wheel and normal residual error. Firstly, a new method of envelope grinding for MACLA using ultrathin diamond grinding wheel with high-order curve section profile is proposed to directly compensate the form-dressing error. The mathematical models of grinding wheel with high-order curve section profile and the wheel path model are established. Then, the mathematical model of instantaneous radial wear of diamond wheel in the grinding process of MACLA surface is established based on the grinding ratio and structural characteristics of aspheric surface. Finally, the normal residual error was obtained to generate a new diamond wheel trajectory for compensation machining. The results of compensation experiments suggested that the MACLA surface had a form accuracy of 1.93μm after the real-time profile compensation grinding, which is reduced by approximately 91% compared with traditional envelope grinding. After normal residual error compensation, the corresponding profile error converges further to 1.22μm, demonstrating the effectiveness and superiority of the suggested error compensation strategies for the MACLA mold fabrication." @default.
