This problem was considered as a possible gas separation technique. The unsteady flow of the gas mixture was simulated using the event-driven molecular dynamics (EDMD) approach under the following conditions: (1) moving boundaries, (2) a wide range of Knudsen number, (3) a wide range of Mach number, (4) violation of equilibrium between rotational and translational degrees of freedom. The problem of periodically interrupted flow was solved as close to reality as possible, taking into account the finite gap between the stator and the moving runner blades. The dependences of the molar fraction and flow rate of the resulting mixture on the system parameters were obtained. As a result, a number of practically important recommendations for the design of such systems have been formulated." @default.
