- W4315694974 abstract "Interdigitated microelectrodes (IDEs) are simple 3D structures patterned at the level of various substrates. IDEs are basic constituting elements for many biosensing devices and are widely used currently in applications where dielectrophoresis (DEP) is employed for electromanipulating various target objects which might have the role of sensing elements. As geometry of the IDEs is of great importance in designing IDEs structure which might ensure improved capability of generating optimal electric field, within the herein paper we are presenting a set of numerical simulation results obtained at the level of a V-shaped IDE array geometry encompassing various shapes of “fingers”. The IDEs capacity of generating different electric field is discussed from the geometrical perspective based on 2D simulations. Numerical results are allowing identification of optimal geometrical configuration of IDEs suitable for ensuring enhanced trapping capacity but also optimal aligning capability of target objects." @default.
