Public children’s organizations and associations are an important and independent social institution in Ukrainian society, which are able to respond to the demands of society and today’s challenges.The purpose of the article is to highlight the peculiarities of the functioning of children’s and youth public organizations and associations under the martial law. The main tasks are: to review the regulatory and legal support for the activities of youth / children’s public organizations; to analyse the results of a survey of adult leaders and coordinators of children’s public organizations and associations; to describe the practices of public organizations in the conditions of the martial law.The scholars of the Laboratory of Moral, Civic and Intercultural Education conducted a survey on the functioning and activities of children’s public organizations and associations in wartime conditions.The current tasks for the further functioning of children’s public associations are outlined. The difficulties faced by children’s public organizations in wartime conditions are characterized.It was determined that in the conditions of the martial law, their activities are complicated (and often simply impossible) by a number of factors, in particular: the impossibility of carrying out work due to military operations and the evacuation of children; lack of financial resources for the organization's activities; change of residence of adult leaders and educators, etc.The examples of volunteer initiatives of various public organizations are described. The directions of the state youth policy are outlined, which takes care of the functioning of children’s and youth public organizations as well as actively involves them in solving important and urgent requests of society." @default.
