- W4315783448 abstract "User movement is an important factor in wireless networks, entailing a framework capable of depicting non-uniform movement in a realistic manner. The random waypoint (RWP) distribution model can accurately represent the non-uniform distribution of mobile nodes. In this work, a visible light communication (VLC) network with a RWP distributed mobile user is considered. The VLC channel is modelled using a geometry-based network model with intensity modulation (IM)/direct detection (DD). The new analytical formulation for ergodic capacity is obtained in terms of Meijer-G functions. In addition, the impact of photo-detector (PD) receiver orientation is examined, and the ergodic capacity of the orientation-based RWP (ORWP) model is evaluated and compared with the conventional RWP model. Moreover, the effect of various VLC system parameters, such as field of view (FOV) angle, semi-angle at half illumination, and maximum radius of VLC atto cell, are also analysed. Finally, Monte Carlo simulations are used to verify the analytical results." @default.
