- W4316658907 abstract "In the work, was presented problem of drag, which occur during the flight of aircraft, and two types of wings were compared in terms of the induced drag produced. Following drag was described successively: friction, shape, interference and induced, the conditions under which they arise and how they can be counteracted. Then, the focus was on induced drag, all the ways to minimize it were presented, such as: the use of aerodynamic combs, increasing the wing aspect ratio and the use of wingtip modifications. The types of tips and solutions used by aviation manufacturers were described in detail. A comparative study of two types of Aero AT-3 wings was carried out, and they were subjected to computer simulation in order to determine the difference in the induced drag produced. The results clearly show that in the case studied, increasing the wing aspect ratio has greater importance in reducing the induced drag than the use of a winglet. The use of a modified wing allows to reduce this drag by more than 20%." @default.
