- W4317201196 abstract "Summary Evolution in the petroleum industry and its impacts on a sustainable future always draw interest to strive in evaluating subsurface for new frontiers such as deep-marine systems. As the basin matures through time, a deep marine system as the main target hydrocarbon play type becomes crucial potential for yet-to-find reserves. Hence, this study attempts to discuss the occurrence of deepwater turbidite systems and other gravity-flow deposit distribution in NW Borneo, to evaluate and predict potential reservoirs. An integrated study was performed by evaluating seismic response and utilising seismic attributes such as spectral decomposition and validated by using borehole image logs. Dense seismic sedimentology analysis by horizon stacks was conducted and analysed using the Relative Geological Time (RGT) approach. RGT was used to guide seismic response and geomorphological features according to chrono-sequences. The findings suggest three occurrences of main subsurface features can be established according to their distribution. Firstly, turbidite’s element internal characteristics such as channel, channel-levee, overbank deposits, lobe and remnant. Secondly, mass transport complex internal characteristics including, slide, slump, and debris. Thirdly, hemipelagic sediment. As a result, this study provides an alternative insight into the understanding of the reservoir occurrence and distribution, especially in slope settings." @default.
