Any printed material should be approved in order to be sent to colonial places. The sources from the censorship apparatus provide us with valuable information about this pluricontinental book market, allowing us to track which books and genres were most demanded by colonial readers, and who were the booksellers and book merchants that monopolised the Portuguese book market." @default.
