- W4317498082 abstract "Anti-aging treatment is a burgeoning industry with worldwide annual sales of about $250 billion, of which at least 10% of sales is attributed to health supplements to raise the levels of the essential pyridine nucleotide nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD+). Nicotinamide riboside (NR) has been more studied in humans than the other precursor, nicotinamide mononucleotide (NMN), yet no published data are available showing how NMN affects human NAD+ levels, and murine studies have not fully characterized the NAD+ metabolome. As a result, no trials directly compare NR with NMN in animal models and human cohorts for various age-related disorders. This chapter evaluates the pharmacokinetics of novel strategies to raise NAD+ levels for treating degenerative aging." @default.
