- W4317637371 abstract "Modern hypersonic vehicles are highly integrated, tightly coupled multidisciplinary systems. This study introduces the GT-Hypersonics framework, which is intended to carry out the sizing and synthesis of hypersonic aerial systems. The framework is designed to be flexible to give designers the ability to quickly generate and analyze coupled system models for generic hypersonic vehicle concepts at multiple fidelity levels. Wrappers for multiple common tools have been implemented for this study, and a set of functional requirements on disciplinary analyses have been proposed to guide future extensions. The framework also leverages data-driven surrogate models and reduced order models to enable the use of data from high-fidelity analysis tools in many-query applications at a manageable computational cost. This paper is intended to introduce the layout of the framework and illustrate how it can be used to perform preliminary analysis. To demonstrate the capability of the framework, it is used to evaluate a Crew Entry Vehicle on a lunar Earth return mission. This paper then concludes with a summary of key contributions and a discussion of areas of current development that can be expected to be implemented in future studies." @default.
