- W4317651444 abstract "This paper deals with designing a three-dimensional impact time guidance strategy to intercept a constant speed, non-maneuvering adversary. We propose to design the guidance law without decoupling the three-dimensional engagement into separate planar ones, thus preserving the inherent coupling between the pitch and the yaw planes. Consequently, the proposed guidance law enables the interceptor to capture the target for arbitrary initial engagement geometries involving wide launch envelops. Unlike other impact time guidance laws, the proposed guidance law does not require time-to-go or its estimate. Instead, we show that it is sufficient to nullify the relative range and range rate for the interceptor to capture the constant speed, non-maneuvering target. Through simulations, we demonstrate the efficacy of the proposed guidance law in various engagement scenarios leading to the time-constrained interception of a constant speed, non-maneuvering adversary. We also compare the performance of the proposed guidance scheme with an existing one and show the proposed one to be superior." @default.
