- W4317757074 abstract "This work produced certain Ni-diamond composite coatings by co-electrodeposition method in the sulfamate baths containing different concentrations of rough-surfaced diamond particles. The effect of diamond content on the microstructure, surface roughness, phase composition, microhardness, wear and electrochemical characteristics of the coatings has been investigated by various methods. It is demonstrated that the addition of diamond changed the preferred orientation of Ni from (200) to (111), it could reduce the ductility of the coatings and increase the microhardness. The microhardness of the coatings was increased from 229 to 613 HV, and the coefficient of friction was reduced to 0.627. Also, the wear rate was only 1.79 × 10−5 mm3/Nm with the diamond content of 3 g/L, indicating its good wear resistance. EIS test revealed that the composite coatings produced at 3 g/L would obtain maximum Rp of 6149 Ω cm2, indicating excellent corrosion resistance. Additionally, the reduction potentials of nickel shift in a negative-going direction as the diamond concentration in the electrolyte increases." @default.
