- W4318260048 abstract "The ignition behavior of explosives under low-velocity impact has been focused in these years. The microcrack evolution plays an important role in ignition. In our work, a visco-elasticity model combined with the statistical crack mechanics model (Visco-SCRAM model), combined with a friction-based hot spot formation model, was used to understand the ignition. Steven test, as the classical impact ignition test, was simulated. The effect of the impact velocity, specimen size, and projectile shapes in Steven test was analyzed. Also, to understand the effect of the damage accumulation on ignition, multiple impact simulation was conducted. The ignition threshold was discussed. In addition, the microcrack evolution model was refined, considering the tension–compression asymmetrical mechanical behavior of explosives. The relation between the stochastic microcrack characteristics and ignition was discussed. The ignition probability with different stochastic microcrack lengths and densities was calculated based on the Monte Carlo method. These simulations matched the test results well." @default.
