- W4318261597 abstract "3D printed Orthoprosthesis is a current trend in Podiatric treatment that is commonly used to treat foot drops induced by peroneal neuropathy. It aids individuals with foot movement, rehabilitation, and daily chores. The purpose of 3D printing (also known as additive manufacturing) Orthoprosthesis, is to overcome the stumbling block in the traditional lower-limb treatment methods and develop novel yet effective alternatives. Conventional methods of Orthoprosthesis were based on manual plaster casting, molding of thermoplastic material, and rubber-based plastic film whereas 3D printing employed innovative techniques such as stereolithography, and fused deposition modeling (FDM), and selective laser sintering (SLS). It provides tailored assistance to the user that is cost-effective, reliable, adaptable, aesthetically enriched, durable, time-effective, and easy to use and handle. The commercial markets of 3d printed orthotics and prosthetics have outstretched to include various areas such as sports, medical-oriented problems for children with growing age, patients with varying conditions, and elderly people. The chapter analyses the state-of-art of these commercial markets, as well as the available 3D, printed orthoprosthesis products and the extent to which they have benefitted people so far." @default.
