- W4319303313 abstract "Due to the intensifying climate crisis and other environmental problems caused by our heavy dependence on fossil resources, there has been much effort to establish biorefinery platforms for the bio-based production of chemicals from renewable resources. In particular, systems metabolic engineering has paved the way to efficiently engineer diverse microorganisms for the production of desired platform chemicals. In this paper, recent advances in the bio-based production of representative platform chemicals including diamines, dicarboxylic acids, diols, hydroxy acids, ω-amino acids, and lactams are reviewed with an accompanying table summarizing the titer, yield, and productivity achieved for each chemical. In addition, future prospects and challenges toward the successful industrialization of bio-based platform chemicals are discussed." @default.
