- W4319782808 abstract "Extraction of biomolecules has a key role in molecular biology as a crucial step for many downstream applications. Upon isolation, biomolecules can be used for numerous purposes. Traditionally, methods were developed to extract them from the biological samples but majority of them were inappropriate, laborious, time consuming, and have many limitations. Currently, certain novel methods were developed, and modifications were made in previous methods. This makes the extraction process easy, convenient, and environment friendly. It also increased the yield, speed, purity, and efficiency of extraction process, as well as diminished the chances of cross contamination. This may include the methods like pressurized liquid extraction, supercritical fluid extraction, gel-filtration chromatography, isoelectric focusing, methyl-tert-butyl ether process, and/or magnetic bead-based methods. This chapter particularly covers the novel techniques used for extraction of biomolecule along with their major associated advantages and disadvantages in comparison with each other. The selection of particular technique is mainly determined by the nature of substances to be extracted." @default.
